French wine region Côtes du Rhône is planning a pre-Christmas push with a £250,000 London-based advertising drive. Starting next Monday the press and poster campaign is aimed at ABC1 adults and features the red hedgehog and hippo cartoon, created for the Think Red, Think Côtes du Rhône promotion that has been successful for the region and has been credited with driving sales of French wines. "The run-up to Christmas is the perfect time to support all our below-the-line activity with a campaign," said Oliver Legrand, export manager at promotional body Inter Rhône. " It marks the start of a re-orientation towards consumer advertising in 2008."
