Hula Hoops has been extended with a lighter ‘puffy’ variant - a first for the KP Snacks brand.
Hula Hoops Puft, rolling out across the trade this week, contains 74 calories per bag compared with 175 in the original Hula Hoops. It comes in multipacks of six in salted, cheese and salt & vinegar flavours.
Puft would “bring to life the fun element of the brand” while engaging with those in search of a lighter snack, said branded sales director Andy Riddle.
The business will be hoping the NPD boosts overall Hula Hoops sales - down 7% year-on-year to £83.8m [Nielsen 52 w/e 11 October 2014].
A multimedia push for the portfolio will kick off later in the year.
