Lucozade Sport is being expanded with a mango & passion fruit flavour to meet demand for exotic and tropical drinks.

Rolling out next month in 500ml bottles (rsp: £1.06) and a four-bottle multipack (rsp: £3.69), the variant will be backed by a £9m spend as the brand looks to tap events including the new football season and the Rugby World Cup.

Lucozade said last year’s football World Cup had helped drive strong sales of the Brazilian guava flavour launched in January 2014 as a limited edition - now permanent after clocking up almost £9m in sales.

“We are pleased to continue helping retailers make the most of the trend for exotic flavours,” the company added.
