Danone has expanded its Oykos yoghurt brand with the launch of a new luxury mousse.

Oykos Whip ‘n’ Mix, rolling out from the end of this month, is a whipped mousse that comes with a separate compartment featuring one of three fruit compotes - strawberry, blueberry or cherry (rsp: £2.49/four-pack).

The newcomer provided consumers with a “fruity new way” to treat themselves, said marketing manager Cynthia Finke.

Danone is supporting the launch with a £1m push, including TV, kicking off at the beginning of May featuring celebrity Peter Andre, who has been signed up as “brand hunk” for the trio.

“Andre has great charm and a warm, fun personality, not to mention being very easy on the eye, which makes him a perfect fit,” said Finke.

Other activity includes a ‘Tasty Tweets’ social media competition, which will run across Facebook and Twitter, encouraging people to share their best and funniest tweets describing what they enjoy the most about Whip ‘n’ Mix. The person with the cheekiest tweet/post will win a ‘dreamy’ day with Andre for them and two friends.
