Greggs has partnered with Tesco to extend its ‘Bake at Home’ frozen range to over 800 of the supermarket giant’s stores.
Rolling out from September 2025, the pair will initially launch a range of five products in stores and online.
The move marks an expansion from the food-to-go retailer’s long-standing tie-up with Iceland Foods, which first launched in July 2011, selling Greggs’ frozen sausage rolls in 10 stores in Liverpool.
The range at the frozen food retailer has now been extended to 15 varieties, including Greggs Sausage Rolls, Cheese & Onion Bakes, Sausage, Bean & Cheese Melts, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, and Bacon & Cheese Wraps, as well as Vegetable Bakes and Vegan Sausage Rolls.
While the food-to-go giant will no longer be one of Iceland’s “exclusive” brands, Greggs confirmed that Iceland remained an “important partner”, with the frozen range continuing to be stocked in stores and online.
It comes as Greggs posted a 14.3% decline in pre-tax profit to £63.5m in the first half of the year but hit back at analyst claims that it had reached its “peak”.
Speaking yesterday (29 July), Greggs CEO Roisin Currie stated: “We don’t believe we’ve reached peak Greggs,” adding that she was “very confident” in the food-to-go giant’s store expansion plans.
Greggs, which operates 2,649 shops in the UK, has ambitions to achieve 140 to 150 net new shop openings in 2025, with a long-term goal of having “significantly more” than 3,000 sites.
