Parfetts is extending its range of own-label medicines with the launch of paracetamol, following the successful rollout of its ibuprofen line in January.
The new 16-pack Go Local Paracetamol Tablets would provide retailers with a profit on return of 62.1% at a £1 rsp, which is more than double the average achieved on branded equivalents, according to Parfetts.
The wholesaler added that the summer rollout was designed to ensure "strong availability ahead of the peak winter medicines season".
The tables, which come in shelf-ready trays with branded packaging and blister packs, reflect Parfetts' growing ambitions in own label.
Its range has now surpassed 250 lines, accounting for 22% of total sales. It has a pipeline of more than 35 new products scheduled for 2025 across impulse, grocery and bakery categories.
"The team at Parfetts worked hard to ensure there is no compromise in quality across our full range," said Parfetts trading director Cheryl Hope. "From wine to baked beans, everything is tested and we invest in working with the best possible producers.
"Own-label is a key factor in increasing basked spend, and with products like our new paracetamol, we're giving retailers the tools to boost margins and offer real value to their shoppers.
"This is just the beginning of our drive to expand the Go Local medicines category, ensuring retailers have a compelling own-label offer to rival the brands and meet shopper demand."
