A new e-commerce manager and assistant will oversee online sales and work with e-commerce clients

Wholesaler of fmcg goods Pricecheck has relaunched its website and hired a dedicated e-commerce team in a bid to increase its online revenue by threefold within a year.

New features include updated search facilities and filters, and a simplified navigation system for easier access to its catalogue of products.

Online sales currently account for around 3% of the company’s turnover but it is aiming for 10% within a year.

The new team - an e-commerce manager and an assistant - will oversee online sales and work with e-commerce clients.

The family-owned business has seen record-breaking online sales this year.

April saw its highest year-on-year increase with online sales up 400% compared to 2019.

“Investment in our new website and dedicated team marks an exciting time at Pricecheck and will help to guide us through our next period of growth,” said joint MD Debbie Harrison. “This is the first big development of our online presence since launching our e-commerce function in 2018 and we will be continually investing in our site.

“Given current market challenges, we’ve seen an increase in customers looking towards online ordering and we want to ensure they have the best experience possible.

“As a delivered wholesaler, we recognise our customers are consumers themselves and have grown to expect the simplicity and ease of B2C ordering within their professional life, which is something we’ve placed emphasis on with our new site.”
