What did you want to be when you were a kid? A jockey, but once I reached 6'7" that didn't work out. Playing test cricket or centre midfield for Arsenal would have done fine.

What was the first music single you bought? I never got into singles, but the first album I bought was Hits 6. Go Whitney.

What was your first job? Working in the warehouse at RH Amar in school holidays. 

Describe your career in 25 words. Hard work, midnight oil, and a steep learning curve, but great colleagues and a lot of fun on the way. 

How do you describe your job to mates? I sell olives.

What is the most rewarding part of your job? Seeing our products in my friends' kitchen cupboards.

And the least rewarding? Seeing competitors' products in my friends' cupboards.

What's your best interview tip? Be yourself, don't talk sh*t, and keep eye contact.

If you didn't work in grocery where would you work? Australia. If I hadn't joined the family business, that's where I'd have gone.

Name your dream perk. A chauffeur. Driving's tedious, and I'd have time to read.

What was your most embarrassing moment? Throwing up before my first bungee jump twice. Jumps two and three went better.

Do you have any phobias? Heights strange for a tall guy. Lemon meringue pie.

What would you request as your final meal? A huge rib-eye steak, topped with Kaitaia Fire chilli sauce, and a few olives on the side.

What's the weirdest thing you've eaten? Lutefisk, a Norwegian "speciality". It's disgusting. 

What would be your desert island luxury? An endless supply of real ale. And olives.

What's your favourite movie and why? Withnail & I - the most quotable film of all time and a cult classic.

What is your motto in life? Work hard, play harder, live the dream.

What do you like to do outside work? Watching Arsenal and playing cricket for Coleshill CC. I've just moved from a one-bed London flat to a house in the sticks, so my wife tells me I'm going to have to start liking gardening.

Where do you hope to be in five years time? Watching England win the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

What animal best reflects your personality and why? An elephant I'm big, friendly, strong and resolute, and I'm useless at jumping.

What's your nickname? Many over the years...Bob, El Grande, Mr Pot, and rather embarrassingly...Cuckooloo.
