What was your first-ever job? At 'Lordes of Marlow' a lawn-mowing business I set up with my brother and a friend when I was 12 we had to dissolve the company before we had any customers when we weren't allowed to use my dad's lawnmower.

What was the first music single you bought? Something by Five Star on tape I probably should have got New Kids on the Block.

How do you describe your job to your mates? Making and selling sexy and sustainable soap and household products.

What is the most rewarding part of your job? Getting happy calls from our consumers. During the last school holidays, I picked the phone up at 8.30am on a Monday to a couple of kids singing a song about how much they love one of our products.

What is the least rewarding part? I've never been a huge fan of forecasting meetings and promotional proposal forms.

What is your motto in life? It was drummed into me pretty early on that there's no substitute for hard work and that if you don't try, you won't succeed.

What's your nickname? Tiny. I also get called 'Crouchy' (after the Bambi-like Peter Crouch) when I'm playing football. In case there's any confusion, I am tall.

If you were allowed one dream perk what would it be? A five-a-side football pitch in the office (we have a dartboard, but no room for the football pitch yet). We'd probably need a ref and a shower, too.

What's your favourite movie and why? Either Old School or Anchorman Will Ferrell is brilliant in both.

What has been the most embarrassing moment in your life? Meeting Rod Hull (RIP) and Emu at a zoo in front of a big crowd when I was five. Emu snarled at me and I ran off the stage scared.

Which celebrity would you pick to join your staff? Jonny Wilkinson. He'd keep the ladies in the office happy. He's also hardworking, focused and determined and he'd love our products.

If you could change one thing in grocery what would it be? The whole industry would benefit from more foresight, longer-term thinking and calculated risk-taking from brands and retailers to drive growth.

What animal best reflects your personality and why? I wasn't sure so I took a test online. Apparently I'm a wildebeest for my resilience, tenacity, competitive spirit and lack of patience.
