What’s it like to work for your company? Brilliant. 5one is a young, exciting and hardworking company. It is really rewarding when the shopper data we analyse helps retailers better understand consumers.

Why is it a good employer? We have a wide mix of skills from data analysts to seasoned experts in the retail sector; by bringing all these skills together we deliver as a team.

What’s the best thing about working there? The great office environment. Everyone goes out of their way to help each other. The past three new starters all said that they had the best first week of any job.

Does the company offer any unusual benefits? 5one provides shopper insight to clients all over the world. Employees get opportunities to work at our offices in London, Cape Town, New York and Paris for international clients as well as travelling around Europe.

How does the company differ from its rivals? When we analyse shopper data for our clients, we focus on how we can maximise the return on investment. We do this by tailoring business strategies based on what their shoppers want from them as a retailer.

Is there a definable company culture? Teamwork. Whoever we are working for, it is by working together that we produce the best results.

If the company were a car what would it be and why? A Golf GTI, quick and nimble but very solid and reliable with a great pedigree.

What’s the training like and what qualifications can I earn? Training is done “on the job”. Although the technologies and techniques we use are complex, our experts make the process easy for new employees.

Has the company won any awards? We asked our staff what they thought about working for 5one. More than 90% of them said it was good or great. It may not be an official award, but I know we are getting it right.

What has been your proudest achievement of the past 12 months? In the last year we have built up our fmcg offering in the UK almost from scratch. We are working with the Co-op, Ocado and BP in the UK to analyse and provide insight on their shoppers and with their suppliers to turn this into actionable strategies.

Are you looking for any people right now? We are always looking for skilled data analysts with a good understanding of the grocery industry.

How does one go about applying for a job? For details, visit our website at www.5one.co.uk or our LinkedIn page.

What tips would you offer jobseekers? Be natural and honest about yourself and what you want.

Are you, or is the company, working on anything exciting right now? We are in the process of rolling out insight for suppliers to BP forecourts in eight countries. We have a big team working on this, so there is quite a buzz at the moment.
