What's it like to work for your company? It's never dull! We enjoy our work and love welcoming visitors and making new friends.

Why is it a good employer? Nearly all Penderyn staff have shares in the business, and we operate as a small, hardworking and effective team who enjoy the experience.

What's the best thing about working there? Aside from the obvious, tasting the whisky, we work in the beautiful Brecon Beacons National Park, where the quality of life is outstanding.

Does the company offer any unusual benefits? We're the only whisky distillery in Wales, so our jobs are a good talking point for everyone in the area.

How does the company differ from its rivals? Penderyn is a relatively small distiller, and so we like to think the business has a family feel. We're more focused on creating a great quality product than we are on increasing production.

Is there a definable company culture? The distillery captures the feel of the Welsh valleys very well. It is a very interesting place to visit 23,000 people came by last year.

If the company were a car what would it be and why? It would have to be a Gilbern (Wales' only car manufacturer). It's got Welsh heritage, but it's not necessarily what you'd expect from Wales.

What's the training like? It takes a long time to learn to make whisky, and virtually all training takes place right here in Penderyn it's a fantastic mix of art and science.

What's your proudest achievement of the past 12 months? Seeing Penderyn become the number one selling whisky in Wetherspoon nationwide, beating the three Scottish whiskies on sale alongside it.

What is the most important or challenging HR issue at the moment? We are currently increasing our hours of distillation, so training new personnel is very high on the agenda.

Are you looking for any people right now? We have just taken on some new distillery staff, but will always advertise locally when we need new personnel.

How does one go about applying for a job? We're a small company with a very stable workforce, but jobs do come up occasionally if you write to us we will always keep you in mind.

What tips would you offer jobseekers? Make sure your passion for the industry comes across.

How do I find out more about the company? Our website www.welsh-whisky.com, and you can also find us on Facebook and Twitter.

Are you, or is the company, working on anything exciting right now? We have some new single cask whiskies that will be launched later this year, which will be very interesting. We will also be launching a new cocktail section on our website in May with lots of great ideas for cocktails made using Penderyn brands.
