PepsiCo has postponed its latest ad campaign for Walkers Crisps because it fears its lighthearted take on the miserable English weather could offend people affected by the UK's floods.

The TV ad, which features Gary Lineker covered in mud and lashed by heavy rain, is set in a potato field. The message of the campaign is that the 154 days of rain in the UK each year makes great spuds.

It is designed to highlight Walkers' commitment to sourcing 100% British potatoes to support farmers and lower its carbon footprint. The company is postponing the ad, which was due to break on 1 August, indefinitely.
