Waitrose is to be awarded a Royal Warrant from 1 January as grocer and wine and spirit merchant to Prince of Wales.

The supermarket already holds a similar Royal Warrant to the Queen.

"To hold two Royal Warrants is a huge honour and I know how pleased and proud everyone at Waitrose will be when they hear the news of this award," said managing director Mark Price.
