Kingsmill has slashed the carbon footprint of its three top-selling loaves by 13% since securing Carbon Trust certification in 2009.

It had cut emissions linked to production of its Soft White, Tasty Wholemeal and 50/50 loaves by replacing ovens and using more fuel-efficient lorries, it said.

The investments have enabled the Associated British Foods-owned brand to keep using the Carbon Reduction Label on its loaves.
