The Food Standards Agency is to implement a European Union ban on the sale of jelly mini-cup sweets in the UK.
The European Commission has banned the sweets while the European Food Safety Authority considers whether these sweets could cause choking.
The sweets are sold under a number of different brand names, including ABC Mini Fruit Bites and Natco Jelee Mini Pots.
Two years ago the EC banned the sale of jelly mini-cup sweets containing a fixing agent called Konjac, which increased the risk of sweets becoming stuck in the throat.
