Goods can continue to be sold in pounds and ounces following a u-turn by the European Commission.
Imperial units were to be scrapped in 2009 but now the current practice of listing goods in both metric and imperial units will continue indefinitely.
“It is good not only for international business but for the British people that traditional measures are kept,” Giles Chichester, the Conservative MEP with responsibility for industry, told the Daily Telegraph.
