Poultry processor Moy Park opened a state-of-the-art £28m factory this week in Anwick, Lincolnshire.

Modelled on its larger plant in County Tyrone, the Republic of Ireland, it will handle 1.4 million birds per week for the fresh retail trade, under own label, and was opened by food and farming minister Jeff Rooker.

NFU president, Peter Kendall, said: "It's important for the British chicken industry. It's encouraging to see processors investing."
