While Jamie Oliver has been out saving the British pig industry, there has been major upheaval at Fresh Retail Ventures, the company behind his range of branded food and non-food products.

The Grocer has learned that MD David Page has made an unexpected departure from the business, just weeks after the Jamie Oliver Group instigated a review of its operations.

The company refused to give details of the new strategy at this stage, but confirmed the appointment of Mike Clark as its new head of licensing.

Clark, who has worked with other celebrity chefs including Antony Worrall Thompson, James Martin and Paul Rankin, will be responsible for developing FRV's strategy over the next few years. He will report directly to John Jackson, CEO of the Jamie Oliver Group of Companies.
