A memorial service is to be held on Monday (7 November) for Halewood International founder John Halewood, who died three weeks ago.

The service, which is open to all and starts at 7pm at the Liverpool Anglican Cathedral, will pay tribute to Halewood’s achievements in business. He co-founded Halewood International in 1978 and steered its development of brands including Lambrini, Crabbie’s Alcoholic Ginger Beer and Red Square Vodka.

The service will also take in Halewood’s passion outside work, horseracing – which culminated in his horse Amberleigh House winning the Grand National in 2004. All attending have been invited to join the family in wearing his racing colours of red, black and white.

Halewood International has announced that Halewood’s widow Judy is to take up his role as chair of the company.
