Mark Sherrington, global marketing director for SABMiller, is leaving in August next year.
A spokesman for SABMiller said that Sherrington had joined the group on a three-year contract. This had originally run until August this year, but had been extended for another year.
He added that Sherrington had agreed to stay at SABMiller until a successor is found.
Sherrington has been marketing director since 2002. He was previously CEO of marketing agency The Added Value Group,
