BBC Worldwide's new magazine for teenagers will be a fortnightly entertainment and celebrity title. The £2m launch, codenamed Project G', will be the biggest in the teen market for six years, according to the publisher. Taking inspiration from American magazines such as US Weekly, Entertainment Weekly and Teen People, Project G will appear for the first time in October. The launch will be supported by a TV advertising campaign. Editor Jeremy Mark said: "Project G will be an entirely celebrity based title offering something cooler, more aspirational and more sophisticated than anything currently available. Featuring only the celebrities of interest to teenagers and young adults, Project G will offer well styled shoots, candid interviews and absolutely no cheese." The magazine will be linked to a new showbiz feature in a new look Live & Kicking programme on BBC TV, including behind the scenes features and exclusive interviews with stars in the UK, Europe and the US. Project G will be published by BBC Worldwide's Family Group, which already publishes teen titles Live & Kicking and Top Of The Pops, the UK's bestselling music magazine. Publisher Lindsaye Fox said: "The cult of celebrity has never been so great. There is a voracious appetite for information, news and features on the lifestyles of the rich and famous. "Teenage and young adult stars in particular are experiencing a huge boom. The teen market has been acknowledged as having huge potential by TV and film companies and there have never been so many programmes, films, young sports stars and fashion stars for this audience." {{CTN }}
