Forget the BBC's Swingometer, Real Crisps has launched its own opinion poll, with limited-edition Gordon Brown, David Cameron and current munchers' favourite Nick Clegg-branded packs.

The Tayto-owned handcooked crisp maker kicked off a sampling campaign outside Westminster on Tuesday. It is giving away 600,000 packs at stations and shopping centres across the UK to promote its regular range, which also features faces on-pack.

All three variants are sea salt flavour so the brand's online poll for the favourite pack "would not be skewed by consumer fondness for different flavours", said MD of Tayto GB James McKinney.

"We've been overwhelmed by the media attention and Nick Clegg can take heart he's currently the consumers' favourite."
