JJ’s has created a new position for a salesperson to focus on the higher-end expansion

JJ Foodservice is set to target high-end restaurants and pubs next year.

The north London based wholesaler has confirmed it is to grow the higher end of its customer base and has created a new position for a salesperson to focus on this expansion.

Over the last year JJ’s has started supplying a raft of new high-quality hotels, restaurants and pubs, which has “paved the way” for the wholesaler to expand.

“Despite the challenges from coronavirus and Brexit, we maintained impressive service levels of 98% throughout the year,” said JJ Foodservice chief product officer Sezer Ozkul.

“This helped to attract new higher-end food outlets to our business. With the right products and people, it is an area we believe we can increase our service to.”

The business will also expand its home retail range, having set it up in March 2020 in response to the pandemic.

JJ Foodservice COO Mushtaque Ahmed added: “The blurring of lines between foodservice and the consumer will see a more ‘business to customer’ approach in the future.”

To support this, the direct to consumer range will grow from 500 products to 1,000 during the first half of next year.

Meanwhile, chief sales officer Baris Kacar said the wholesaler was “on track” to exceed record sales of £250m for the year ending 31 March 2022.
