Foodservice and on-trade members will be eligible for a 30% reduction in fees for 2020-2021

Unitas Wholesale has slashed its 2020-2021 membership fees by 30% for its foodservice and on-trade members.

The Unitas board approved the one-off reduction of charges in response to the ongoing impact the pandemic is having on its non-retail members, which have seen turnover “fall off a cliff”.

The decision will enable 51 of the group’s 159 members to access the cut-price offer.

“2020 and the beginning of 2021 have been challenging for everybody,” said Unitas MD John Kinney. “However, it has been catastrophic for the out-of-home sector and the independent wholesalers that serve it, with many having to close their doors temporarily while furloughing their teams.

“We appreciate that the financial impact of the pandemic on our out-of-home members is huge and damaging, and we hope that this one-off reduction in fees goes some way to demonstrate our understanding and commitment to our foodservice and on-trade members.”
