Bottled water

The bottled water industry now has a technical working group

Industry body The Natural Hydration Council (NHC) has created a ‘technical working group’ to keep members informed of all the latest regulations and legislations related to bottled water.

The group, which consists of experts from Danone Waters, Highland Spring, Nestlé Waters, Ty Nant, Harrogate Water Brands and Wenlock Spring, would address technical and regulatory issues that affect bottled water producers in the UK, said The NHC.

Chaired by Jacques Obringer - former scientific and regulatory affairs director for Danone UK - the group would support The NHC’s communications group by ensuring the facts related to the quality of naturally sourced waters were “communicated effectively”, said Obringer. He said the formation of the group was an “important milestone” for The NHC.

“We have noticed a rise in technical and regulatory issues in the UK, and we are delighted to have this offering for our members,” he said.
