Joe Delucci’s gelato is to roll out in a new format that allows consumers to mix their own flavour.

The Duo range will debut at 110 Tescos, which currently sells the brand exclusively, on 17 March (rsp: £3.29). Sold in two 160ml pots of gelati in one box, the initial flavours include Banoffee Duo - individual pots of banana and toffee and a coffee with Vanilla Cream Duo.

The texture of gelato lended itself to mixing better than many ice creams, said Joe Delucci’s co-founder Nigel Langstone. The gelato in the Duo range is made to the same recipe as the brand’s 500ml pots, which are being expanded with new fat-free strawberry and coconut flavours.
