Surrey sausage maker Graham White & Co is predicting a 20% sales uplift after winning Musgrave Group’s own-label sausage business for mainland UK.

The contract is a major win for the company which, until now, has only produced sausages under its own Porky Whites brand.

Under the Musgrave contract - understood to have previously been serviced by meat processing giant Vion - White will supply nine sausage lines into Musgrave’s Budgens and Londis stores.

The deal meant a sizeable increase in business, said Graham White MD Chris Price. “This could be a springboard for other own label business,” he said.

Price predicted the Musgrave contract would add about £760,000 to the company’s current £3.8m in annual sales.

For Musgrave’s Best tier, White will supply pork, pork & leek, pork & apple and sweet chilli & lime sausages, as well as chipolatas. For the standard SuperValu tier it will supply pork, Cumberland and Lincolnshire sausages, and it will also supply one Daily Basics sausage.

All of the sausages will be manufactured at White’s Woking factory in Surrey.
