Cow & Gate has recalled a batch of its muesli for babies over fears packs may contain insects.
Packs of Cow & Gate Sunny Start My First Banana Muesli From 10 Months (330g best before 27 September 2016) are being pulled from shelves following “a small number of complaints” about an insect being found in the pack.
A post on the brand’s Facebook page describes how a mum found “some kind of living creature” in a pack of the muesli when she went to feed her little boy.
Cow & Gate has urged consumers not to feed the muesli to their children over fears other packs in the batch may be affected. The supplier apologised for the issue and said it had launched an immediate investigation to prevent it happening again.
“We would like to reassure parents that we maintain strict standards at our factory and we are committed to providing the highest quality products,” it said in a statement.
