Chase Distillery is launching its first RTD cocktail this autumn.

The Hereford distillery is launching Chase Marmalade Mule, a 6% abv pre-mixed cocktail containing its Seville orange marmalade-flavoured vodka, ginger beer, fresh lime and bitters. The 250ml cans, retailing at £3 and co-packed by a local canning facility, will be launched at its music festival, Rock the Farm, at the end of this month before rolling out to retailers. The company will target independent wine shops, delis and high-end retailers.

Marketing director James Chase said consumers were increasingly looking for an “express route” to cocktail-making. He said the line would also act as a marketing tool for Chase Marmalade Vodka.

The launch is the first in a range of NPD rolling out over the next six months. It is adding a red and a white wine from its French vineyard Chateau Constantine-Chase next month: Madame Constantin 2013, a red wine blend of syrah and grenache grapes (rsp: £10), and white vermentino/viognier blend Papillon Vin de France 2013 (rsp: £11), which will be limited to 2,500 bottles in the UK. It is also doubling production of Williams Chase Rosé, launched in Harvey Nichols in April.

The company is also looking at extending Willy’s cider, launched a year ago. It is developing traditional British-flavoured variants that avoid the “artificial” taste of many fruit-flavoured ciders. The new lines, set to roll out next spring, are likely to include blackcurrant and elderflower.
