Booths

Northern supermarket Booths is hosting a tasting evening and BBQ at its Keswick store to help customers understand its 500-plus range of beers and ciders.

The supermarket is bringing together 10 breweries and staging a BrewDog craft beer school to give customers an additional insight into the UK’s craft beer trend, which it says has prompted three new breweries to open every week for the past two years.

“We work with some of the UK’s best regional breweries and with so many to choose from, we thought a Friday night of BBQ and beer sampling would make the perfect introduction,” said Booths beer buyer Pete Newton.

Booths stocks more than 500 beers and ciders from some 90 suppliers, many of them local to its 28 stores across Lancashire, Yorkshire, Cumbria, Cheshire and Greater Manchester.

Among those featuring at the tasting evening will be Stringers, Eden Brewery, Bowland, Jennings and Little Valley, and the event coincides with the retailer’s three-for-two offer on over 100 bottled beers and ciders. A local bluegrass band will play at the event.

Booths is selling tickets at the Keswick store for today’s 7-9pm event at £2 each, with profits going to the Cumbria Community Foundation Flood Appeal.
