In little over a decade, Oxxo has “set the benchmark for local convenience grocery in Latin America”, with over 10,000 stores in 350 cities in Mexico and Colombia, and sales of £3.8bn. Owned by Femsa (the local Coca-Cola distributor), recent growth remains “impressive”, with over 100 stores opening each month. Private label innovation and increasingly sophisticated range and promotion make one judge “confident future growth prospects are strong.”
