Sainsbury’s shoppers will be able to redeem their Nectar card points at any Sainsbury’s store this Christmas.

Historically, Nectar card holders can’t redeem their points in a Sainsbury’s that they have not shopped at in the past year.

However, in its staff magazine Sainsbury’s Journal, the retailer told staff they could help shoppers redeem their points using the ‘Home Store Workaround’ - which involves asking the shopper to go to the customer service desk to get the points deducted.

“At Christmas, customers may want to shop in a different store and use their Nectar points,” Lisa Preece from Sainsbury’s Holborn store support centre told the Journal.
