Booker has given £100,000 back to its customers under the cooking oil recycling scheme it launched in June last year.

Customers can either bring their used cooking oil to Booker in return for money-off vouchers or arrange for free collection as part of the scheme.

More than a million litres of returned oil had been used to make bio-diesel for Booker’s fleet and to produce energy for its Hatfield distribution centre, said catering sales director Ron Hickey. “Thousands are using the service,” he added.
