Poundworld has launched a discount wholesale website targeted at market traders, eBay sellers and independent retailers.

The website, www.discount-wholesale.co.uk, will offer about 2,000 lines from categories such as cleaning, DIY, stationery and pet care. Poundworld claims it will be the cheapest wholesale website in the UK.

“As a family-owned retailer, we are able to use our personal experience to really understand the needs of the independent and to help them succeed in this tough economic climate,” said e-commerce manager Helen Todd.

“We are taking the traditional cash & carry concept but adapting it to be accessible to all.”
