Agencies AMV BBDO and Mercieca dominated last night’s glittering presentation ceremony for The Grocer Marketing, Advertising & PR Awards.

More than 250 guests gathered at The Savoy, London, to be part of The Grocer’s annual celebration of the best marketing activity the fmcg industry has to offer.

Host and comedian Hal Cruttenden handed out 13 awards for the best creative campaigns - measured by both creativity and business results - while a further nine agency awards were presented based on a wider range of criteria.

AMV BBDO took five awards - including two for its Walkers What’s That Flavour campaign - while Mercieca is today having to find space for four more gongs. Mercieca’s haul included the agency award for Business/Trade Advertising - making this the 12th year it has taken it.

As Adam Leyland, editor of The Grocer, said in his introduction: “Giving the consumer something they want to view, want to listen and interact with, or want to be part of, is no easy feat - and we are delighted to recognise the standout stars.”
