The makers of an innovative new drinking container for enjoying beer-on-the-go are looking to raise £200,000 to support further product development.

Threadless Closures has launched a crowdfunding campaign with SyndicateRoom for Xottle, a “glass-like” drinking container designed to keep the beer fresher and tasting better for longer, while providing a much easier “on-the-go” drinking experience.

Xottle is a combination of clear PET containers that can be created in a variety of branded shapes and new re-sealable cap technology. The company said it is “the perfect complement to the new generation of craft beers and ciders because it says it helps to maximise both flavour and brand.”

Threadless will use the investment to finalise product development while continuing its marketing activity, fuelling the next stage of product commercialisation.

It claims Xottle has the potential to become a “disruptive” force, offering a modern alternative in a market that it says currently lacks innovation. “Xottle will change forever the beer packaging market with a revolutionary new design, focused around the customer drinking experience,” said Threadless MD Anthony Fraser.

Goncalo de Vasconcelos, chief executive of Syndicate Room, added the crowdfunding platform expected the product to “take the market by storm”.
