A new chewing gum that claims to contain ingredients that help people lose weight is seeking supermarket listings.

SlimGum, which launched this month into Superdrug (rsp: £2.99 for 10 pieces), is marketed as “a discreet, convenient solution to weight management on the go”.

It contains green coffee bean extract and chromium, which are said to reduce appetite, plus thiamine, biotin, L-carnitine and green tea extract said to boost the metabolic rate.
