Higgidy turns to turkey for celebration pie

Higgidy is offering shoppers 'Christmas dinner in a limited-edition pie'.

The handmade Christmasy Turkey Pie with Bacon Stuffing (rsp: £3.49/250g) is the first of a range of celebration pies to be launched by the company. The shortcrust pastry case is filled with free-range turkey, smoked bacon lardons, creamy leek sauce and free-range pork sausagemeat stuffing with apricots, sage and onion. It goes into Sainsbury's, Ocado and Booths this month and will be stocked for about eight weeks.

Higgidy is also planning Diamond Jubilee and London 2012 pies next year.
