Asda has promoted Adrian McKeon to commercial ­director for grocery.

McKeon moves up from the role of category director for beers, wines and spirits a position he has held since January 2010.

He is the former chief executive of Cobra beer, having quit the business in April 2009, a month before it went into voluntary administration. He has also worked for Beam Global Spirits & Wine UK.

Tracy Ford has replaced McKeon as category director for beers, wines and spirits. She has 12 years’ trading experience at Asda in departments including grocery and supply.
