A French online wine retailer has extended to the UK and is aiming for £2m in first-year sales.
Vente-Privee, which also sells clothing online, will run four online “flash sales” each month, offering 30% to 40% discounts on wines with an average retail price of £20-plus. It will stock products from major brands and lesser-known producers.
The company will charge for delivery and will post wines from a warehouse in France.
