He started the year with a round of disastrous horsegate-related appearances including to a cataclysmic appearance on Panorama in which he appeared to blame “the Irish” for the scandal. But he redeemed himself entirely with a three-part fly-on-the-wall documentary that was every bit as compelling but in a good way.
