Landmark Wholesale has appointed a new trade controller as it looks to develop the on-trade arm of the business.

The wholesale buying group, which announced a “huge” on-trade recruitment drive last year, has hired Martin Spivey to the newly created role of licensed on-trade controller to develop terms with suppliers. Spivey, who will take up the role on 17 March, joins from Molson Coors where he was senior NAM and had experience working with Landmark’s members.

Landmark, which announced in September it had signed six new on-trade members, currently has just one on-trade wholesaler and is looking to grow the arm as part of a “long-term strategic initiative”.
