Ben Reid chairty walk

Ben and Sue Reid have completed a 194-mile walk for charity

Midcounties Co-operative Society chief executive Ben Reid has raised £4,700 for the Teenage Cancer Trust after completing a 194-mile coast-to-coast challenge.

Reid and his wife Sue walked from St Bees, Cumbria, to Robin Hood’s Bay, North Yorkshire, in 13 days – walking an average of 14 hours a day.

The challenge is part of Midcounties Co-op’s aim to raise £500,000 for the Teenage Cancer Trust this year.

“I was really inspired by all the hard work and support that Teenage Cancer Trust provides to help improve the lives of young people living with cancer and it motivated me to take on the challenge,” Reid said.

“It was a tough two weeks that really pushed us but it was all worthwhile to raise money for this fantastic cause, and I’d like to thank everyone who generously donated to help us continue our support for the charity,” he added.
