Morrisons has named Emily Lawson as its new group human resources director.

She joins the supermarket chain in September from McKinsey & Company, where she is currently a partner leading the Human Capital Practice.

“Morrisons is one of the largest private sector employers in the UK and I am looking forward to working with colleagues across the business to build an environment where everyone can do their best work, deliver the excellent service for which the business is renowned, and support the communities in which the business operates,” she said.

CEO Dalton Philips added: “Emily is a world-class human resources practitioner and her role will be vital in our transformation of Morrisons into a multi-format, multi-channel retailer. Emily has fantastic experience working with organisations to ensure their colleagues deliver their strategy and I am confident she will encourage a similar collective purpose and passion at Morrisons.”
