Farmdrop has appointed a former head of logistics at Marks & Spencer as director of supply chain.

After eight years at M&S, Philip Eaves has joined online marketplace Farmdrop, which has recently launched one-hour slot, seven-day deliveries from its zero-emission vans.

Eaves began at M&S in 2009 as food logistics manager and worked his way up to head of logistics development in 2013, before joining Farmdrop in March this year.

Prior to M&S, Eaves spent three years as operations development project manager for Tesco and two years as project manager at Gist.

At Farmdrop, Eaves has joined a team of 35 and is responsible for all aspects of the supply chain, including range and pricing from craft producers and delivering sustainably sourced, fresh food to customers.

“Farmdrop’s reinvention of the conventional food chain model means it’s never been easier to access the freshest food produced on our doorstep and support small-scale independent producers,” said Eaves.
