Higgidy Special Guest Pie

A Christmas-themed pie is the first in a series of Special Guest pies from Higgidy. Launching in Sainsbury’s this month, the Lincolnshire Bronze Turkey, Bacon & Stuffing pie retails at £3.49 (270g). The pies will run as limited editions, with recipes based on seasonal ingredients. A Venison, Cranberry & Red Wine variant will ring in the new year, followed by Chicken & Smoky Spanish Chorizo next spring and an Aberdeen Angus Steak & Chilli for the autumn.

Birds Eye Puff Pastry

“Consumers told us they wanted a slightly more premium pie for a weekend treat,” says Sean Cox, Birds Eye trade marketing manager. The British Steak and Chicken & Ham Puff Pastry pies come in a 360g two-pack (rsp: £2). Premium ingredients include Jersey butter in the pastry, 100% chicken breast and British beef.

Holland’s 2 Chicken & Gravy Pies

The third addition to Holland’s two-pack frozen pie range, 2 Chicken & Gravy Pies (rsp: £2) is now available in Tesco. Microwaveable in three minutes, the two-pack is aimed at smaller households and those with limited freezer space. Only British chicken is used. The other varieties are Steak & Kidney Puddings and Potato & Meat Pies.

Ginsters Festive Pasty and Festive Bar

The Festive Pasty contains turkey, smoked bacon, potato and onion in a creamy sauce with cranberries and mustard (rsp: £1.99/180g).  The Festive Bar (rsp: £1.69/90g) contains sausagemeat and turkey with a cranberry, onion and herb sauce. From each sale of the products, 10p will be donated to Royal Voluntary Service’s Christmas meals campaign.
