A flurry of headlines about coffee pods’ environmental credentials, or rather lack of, hasn’t held Tassimo back. In fact, it’s brewed up £5.1m growth. Tie-ups with well-known brands such as Costa, Oreo, Cadbury and even Twinings have ensured the brand’s growth across hot chocolate and tea pods as well as coffee. While pods are still significantly more expensive per cup than instant coffee or tea bags, the premium quality helps entice consumers in. Tassimo also benefitted from a 3% fall in price.
