Italy: Protein Shortbread

Linea Hi-Pro describes its Vanilla Pod-Flavoured Shortbread Protein Biscuits as ‘ideal for breakfast or a tasty snack’. Made with soy, egg whites, spelt, oat flakes and virgin olive oil, they pack 35g of protein per 100g with an rsp of €7.90/£6.70.

Malaysia: Pizza Flavoured Crackers

Want the glorious taste of pizza without all the calories? Introducing Shapes Cheesy Pizza Chip-Crackers (rsp: MYR2.49/£0.48). The crackers are baked, not fried, and foil-wrapped in 80g packs.

US: Raw Chocolate Truffle Cake

This Organic Raw Chocolate Truffle Cake (rsp $8.89/£5.82) is described as a decadent raw chocolate truffle cake, garnished with crunchy cacao nibs. The vegan product is free from soy, flour, dairy, gluten, egg, refined sugars and artificial flavours.

US: Oreo Thins

Oreo Thins – for the more sophisticated biscuit muncher. At least that’s what Mondelez says as it tries to lure ‘lapsed Oreo consumers’ back into the fold with this thinner, lower-calorie variant of the popular US biscuit (rsp: $2.99/£2.24).

Spain: Coconut & Lemon Soy Biscuits

Sonjoy’s Coconut & Lemon Biscuits are high-fibre snack bars made from soybean flour with over 30% fruit content. The biscuits (rsp: €1.50/£1.27) are part of the brand’s expansion into Europe where biscuits are more broadly consumed than snack bars.

UK: Lemon Drizzle Protein Mug Cake Mix

Combining Brits’ love of protein and cake, this Lemon Drizzle Protein Mug Cake Mix contains 11 servings and is high in protein and fibre (rsp: £12.99). All users have to do is mix with water and pop in the microwave for 30 seconds.

South Korea: Green Tea Biscuits

Pro-M is jumping on the green tea bandwagon. Its Green Tea Grain Chip Biscuits (rsp KRW4780.00/£3.09) are made with green tea powder, pistachio and unsalted butter, and leavened with natural yeast.

Germany: Coconut Chia Spelt Biscuits

Who says biscuits can’t be good for you? Packing as many superfoods into one biscuit as possible, Liebhart's Gebäckspezialitäten’s Bio Dinkel biscuits contain coconut rasps, chia seeds and spelt flour (rsp €2.49/£2.11).

China: Salted Soda Biscuits

Jiang Zhong Hou Gu’s Salted Soda Biscuits contain 11% lion's mane fungus - or hericium erinaceus, an edible fungus native to Asia and other parts of the world. The crackers are sold in packs of 30 with a rsp of CNY99.8/£9.14.

US: Craft Beer Cake Mix

I drink beer, I eat cakes – that’s PubCakes’ motto. One of its latest offerings combines is a Cocoa Porter Cake Mix (rsp: $4.99/£3.35). Users simply have to mix in their favourite porter or stout, butter and an egg, bake, and a pub cake is born.
