Asda is set to open its second George clothing store in Malta.
The new 600 sq m store will open in the Duke Shopping Complex in Victoria, Gozo and it follows Malta’s first-ever George franchise store, which opened in Hamrun earlier this year.
The Walmart-owned retailer has opened nine George clothing stores across the Middle East and UAE in the past year as it looks to expand the budget clothing chain’s international presence. The chain has not had a standalone presence in the UK since 2008, when Asda closed 11 George stores.
“The Victoria store is our second international franchise opening in Malta and we are confident it will prove as popular as its predecessor in Hamrun,” said Jo Whitfield, international director for George.
“Our overseas stores have been a great success and as our international customer base continues to expand we remain on the lookout for exciting new franchise opportunities.”
