Mother’s Day is upon us and, if you don’t have a plan yet, you could do worse than to follow the example of the kids in Asda’s special ad.

A whippersnapper briefs his dad and little sister - as well as the family dog - on plans for the big day. It’s a military-style operation, with every detail mapped out from lie-in to the kids’ bed-time, (“no dramas”, he pledges). In between there’s a list of treats and gifts usefully available from Asda - such as chocolate, a chicken dinner (particularly popular with the dog), ‘loads of flowers’ and new pyjamas. Asda flashes up a few other potential gifts, too.

A simple and sweet ad - Asda is miles ahead of its rivals when it comes to these smaller special occasions.
